Living Room Before & After

Doesn't it look wonderful? It's come along so well and I'm so happy and (still) excited about this end result. The project took a lot longer then we thought it would and there were a few extra steps but it was so worth it to now have a living room and dinning room we love.

Some new blinds. We bought at least 10 different types of curtains before we thought of blinds and turns out that's the best thing that goes in there anyways. I wanted something white and clean, and it sort of gives the place a little bit of a (modern) cap cod feel right?

The antique green couch used to be here but we put it in the studio to make it a little more roomy and simple in the living room.

I got this light for free when we were moving out of our old apartment. They were remodeling and were just going to throw it out anyways. I just spray painted it, switched up the bulbs and there you go! Looks like a million!

I updated this liquor shelf while I was at it. It was brass before. Not bad for a 25cent purchase!
(here's the before picture!)

Right now I'm not putting any art work up on the walls except for that large painting in the dinning room. So I thought a little art work on the floor would be fun...and I was running out of room on where to put all my extra art.

Boon Burger

My dinner club decided on Boon Burger this last month. I'd never been (which is sort of the point. We try to go to places none of us has been to) but I knew it was veggie land, so I wasn't too sure what I would get. I'm not the hugest fan of most veggie burgers but these ones were pretty good. It wasn't all tofu made to taste like meat which was really nice.

I had the chilli fries which were good other then not having enough cheese.

We got approached four times while eating by homeless people for change. That sort of took away from the experience, because, well we were trying to eat and have a conversation and it's just having your waiting come and interrupt you every five minutes except this makes you feel even worse because someone that needs something is asking for money (you hope it's for food) right when you are eating something tasty.

Anyways, I'd give it a 5. It was ok. I tried it. I wouldn't go back again for a long time, mainly because I don't love that type of food (I want meat in my burger please!) and there's still so many places in this wonderful city I haven't tried yet. I did like the toy animals as order numbers though. That was fun.

This was not from Boon Burger. My friend Roxy who has her own restaurant brought this for us for dessert. OH MY GOSH was it good! I think she called it Midnight Truffle. Wow, I just have to say, she's amazing and I could eat that all night!

The Farmer's Market

 (Lobster plant! Isn't it pretty?)

The St. Norbert Farmer's Market is one of my favorite places to shop in the summer time. The flowers, the free range eggs and meat, the honey, the baking, oh there's just so many good things to pick from!

After the market we made a stop at a fund raising garage sale. We saw a play ground across the street...

This this is crazy! You lean forward a little and with your own body weight it spins you around and around. It's sort of scary and makes you want to through up but still very fun!

We all were feeling sort of like this after though....

A little yard goodness

(All my containers full of water from the rain. I figured my rain barrel isn't big enough so I'd fill whatever I could find!)

I know I haven't posted a yard update in a while so I thought I'd give you a little something until I have one for you.

This vine is slowly growing...It's an annual so it better hurry up!

The amazing poppies growing in our front yard. They are so bright and beautiful. It's pity they don't last longer.

We had my mom over for dinner and it was so wonderful out we ate outside.
Broccoli coleslaw with bacon!

BLT dip

And a little Hawaiian wine
