Why They're Wonderful: Dog Saving Other Dog

I saw this the other day and thought it was amazing. The first video I saw of it didn't say what happened, it was only set to music (stupid by the way!) and so I searched for a while until I found this one...wow, just amazing! It just goes to shows how amazing God made dogs.

My Mom is Wonderful.

So not only did Marshall and I have our own anniversary celebration my mom wanted to do something for us too.

She's known that I wanted air plants for a while so she took up to Shelmerdine's and told me to pick some out.
(Newly placed on my kitchen table...but I had to give them a good soak first)

Then she ordered ribs from The White House because she knows we've wanted to try that place for a while

and afterward she took us to BDI for ice cream because she knows Marshall loves BDI and we love going for ice cream.

AND if that wasn't enough she gave us another gift; a paraffin wax hand dip! You should have seem Marshall light up! Even before we started dating whenever he was over he would use my mom's and now we have our own.

My mom has always been amazing at celebrating events and special occasions but I wasn't expecting this. I truly felt spoiled! Hospitality and generosity are just two of the many amazing trates my mom has. She's such an amazing woman and I'm so glad she's my mom.

30 Years

I don't totally remember where I first saw this but I totally want to start doing this! Marshall and I are coming up to our first year (Sept 1st!!) and I think it would be great to take a picture each year as we go along. I know most people take family photos and stuff like that but I like the idea of a class photo sort of thing of each person. I think I'd even include our dog! (Check out the full size photos here)

All India Radio Video

I saw this video on my sister's blog a while ago and I just love it!

They use a animation technique, where a team of people paint in the air with glow sticks, frame after frame to create entire sequences of animation! I had never seen this before, or at least didn't know how it was done if I did. I hope you like it as much as me!

How to be Alone

So if you haven't read my other posts about it Marshall has been away on work. He's on the 5 week of this gone for 5 days back for 2 thing and it looks like there's another 4 weeks of this.

I used to be really great of being alone but since I got married I really haven't been alone that much. I've sort of forgot what it was like to be alone, and the whole alone thing really hasn't been working for me. I have Ollie, our dog and of course friends and my mom who I hang out with every week but just being in the house, alone, hasn't been good. I haven't been coping well at all. I saw this video the other day and it really encouraged me and I can totally relate to it. So here you go, a little help with being alone. I hope it inspires you as much as it has me!

Missing My Man, Making Me Cry

So my husband has been away for a while. He's been home off and on (away all week, home on the weekends) for the last 3 weeks and it looks like it's going to be another 4 weeks of this. We've been married for almost a year now and I can't thing of one night we've spent apart. This sort of snuck up on us (he didn't know this work schedule until last minute) and me being the person that normally needs to plan for this sort of change I didn't and haven't done very well with this. I saw this video today and it totally got to me, I cried the whole time. I know Marshall has just been away on work and it's nothing compared to a 12 month tour in Iraq or something like that, but it's nice to have something to relate to while he comes home on the weekend! It's always a treat having him back! I can't imagine having to go so much longer!

I Wish We Were All Like Her

I saw this video for the first time thanks to The Newelly Weds Blog and I wish I was more like this little girl. I know it's all in fun, or maybe she really does love anything but either way how often do you see a little girl being so thankful and pumped about life and everything she has? I wish we were all a little more like that!
