Road Trip: Day 8, Part 2: LA-Oscars, Madame Tussauds, Trolley Ride

We had some time to waste before our trolley ride and we had a Go LA card so we got in free to Madame Tussauds. I would never pay $25 a person to go in there but because it was part of the card, and it was rainy and cold outside we went in. It was a lot of fun and really creepy at the same time because some of those statues look super real. I couple times I thought they were going to start moving.

We didn't get to go on a tour of the Kodak Theater because they were setting up for the Oscars but it was pretty neat getting to walk around while it was all being set up.

And of course we did some working around to see the stars and hand prints.

We didn't get any photos of the trolley ride 1) because it was raining and it was an open air trolley and I didn't want to get the camera wet 2) because we were going to fast and it was too dark to really get much and 3) because I was freezing and so didn't want to keep my fingers out of my pockets for any longer then I had to.

At one point a car went by us and through a puddle and got us all soaked on that side of the trolley. It was not the highlight of the ride that's for sure but I'll never forget it.

Road Trip: Day 8, Part 1: LA-Science Center, Disney Center

The original plan was to spend a lot of time outside but it was but a pretty day so we did the Science Center and the Disney Center. Can't say I loved the Science Center, I guess I didn't realize it would be a lot more just for kids, but now I know. But the Disney Center was very nice. I expected it to be a lot bigger on the inside because of how it looks on the outside but it was still very beautiful. I suggest doing the audio tour, lots of good information in there and it's free!

Road Trip: Day 7, Part 3- Sand Dunes

After the stop at Sonic Burger we got on the road again and we working our way to LA. We were going over our mental list of things we wanted to do and see and we both were like "It would be really nice to see some sand dunes". We tried to google it before we even left Vegas but couldn't find anything and we tried to find something on our GPS and still nothing so we weren't too sure what to try next. We just drove and sort of hoped we'd see something and sure enough! I can't seem to find what these ones were called (sorry) but they are just off the highway from Vegas to LA. We went into the park- it's about a 10 mile drive off the highway- and you really don't realize how big they are until you get up close. It was very cool to get to see this and it's always fun when you find something almost by mistake.

Road Trip: Day 7, Part 2-My First Sonic Burger Experience

I had never been to a Sonic Burger before. We were on the road (I mean it's a road trip after all right?) and I was looking out for one because it was on the list of things to do while on the trip and finally we found one! I can't say I loved all of it but the milk shake was great and my chicken burger was pretty good (minus the huge amount of white bun...I picked at a lot of it, there was no way I was taking in that much processed white flour into my body).

I'm glad I tried it and I think it's a road trip must. Next time though I want to wait and have them come out on the roller skates!

Road Trip: Day 7, Part 1- Pahrump Valley Winery

Marshall and I had a few different things on our list that we wanted to do while in Nevada or even just on our trip and seeing/touring a winery was one of them. We didn't really know what was around so we just put "winery" in our GPS and got this place. We googled it to make sure it was a real winery and we were off. It was a bit of a detour on the way to LA but so worth it.

Marshall would love us to own our own winery one day so getting to tour one was sort of an important step.

It was really interesting hearing all about how they had to do things differently because of the soil and weather conditions out there.

It was a smaller tour so we got to ask a lot of questions as well. I love having that interaction right with the owner. It makes it feel that much more real and personal you know? If you are in the area you should definitely check this place out!

The 150+ awards they have gotten

Trying to pick which wines we want to try. They had a lot of options!

Helping out showing how the corker works. Pretty cool (and expensive) machine!

It was so pretty there! I took so many pictures like this there were just so many great trees and flowers.

Here's a little video for you! We saw it when it was all done and wow, it's pretty!
