5th Annual Movie Marathon

So we had our 5th Annual Movie Marathon. A little different this year because my sister and Paul joined us for some of it (we're usually pretty snobby about it and don't invite anyone and just have us time) but it was nice to be able to share that time together.

We had lots of Christmas baking (rum balls, peanut butter balls, snickerdoodles, ginger snaps) and picked some really great movies.

I was sure there was one more movie we watched and I've been putting off posting this because I was trying to remember it but it's just not coming to me. Either way it was a great time and a wonderful Christmas Tradition.

The way we do it is we save names of movies we want to see (new and old) throughout the year. We usually end of seeing a lot of the movies on the list before we get to the Movie Marathon time of year but we try to keep a few just for that, it makes it more special.

Then we get lots of food and treats together and settle in for a day (and night) full of movies. It really is a great time. We went all out with appetizers last year but this year we had so much food from all the Christmas dinners we had there was no need to make anything!

Orphaned Postcard Project

I just thought I'd share this cool project with you. The way it works (or what I understand so far) is that you pick one or a few postcards you want to adopt, wait for them to come in the mail with instructions, then write a little something about yourself (or a lot!) and mail it back. I am starting to get into the whole snail mail thing again (thanks to my sister) and I thought this one would be fun to try!

Ok, It's time to laugh

Ok, so doctor's orders I need to laugh more. Did you know that kids laugh around 300 times a day? Adults? 27 times a day! I don't think I even do 5! So here are some videos to get me (and you!) started on laughing more!!

Christmas Broken Jello??

Ok so I thought this was pretty cool!! I found it at The Food Librarian but I had to bring it back to you all!

Broken Glass Jello
(Adapted from JustJenn)

4 small boxes (3 oz. each) of Jell-O or store brand "gelatin dessert" in different colors. (I used strawberry, lime, orange and blue. My store only sells the big 6 oz. box of blue jello so I weighed 3 oz. or half of the package).

1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (don't get evaporated milk)

2 envelopes unflavored gelatin (that Knox stuff)

Someone was telling me about these the other day and so I had to look them up. What a cool idea right? I haven't come up with a reason to make them yet, but don't you worry, I will! • Fudge brownie mix box, including extra ingredients listed on box
• Yellow cake mix box, including extra ingredients listed on box
• 1 (16 oz) can white frosting
• Red, yellow, and green food coloring; can mix violet with red to make a deeper color

When I'm Prago I Want to do This!

I saw this a little while ago and what a great idea hey? A photo and a little write up on how things are going. They're putting it in a book to give to their little girl one day to look back on. How cool hey? I know a lot of women don't like to get their photo taken at the best of times, but this is such a great thing to look back on! I know I'm going to suck it up, get over the fact that I think I look fat and do it!

I saw this video on my sister's blog a while ago and I just love it!

They use a animation technique, where a team of people paint in the air with glow sticks, frame after frame to create entire sequences of animation! I had never seen this before, or at least didn't know how it was done if I did. I hope you like it as much as me!
